PostSubject: 1999 Camaro 9 sec street/strip   Mon Nov 08, 2010 8:28 pm

Up for sale is my 99' Pewter T-Top Camaro. The body has 115,xxx miles on it and the engine has around 2,xxx street miles and about 30 1/8th miles passes.

The car was recently took off the street and used for strictly bracket racing.

Went to Test and Tune the car last weekend and it ran a 6.81 @99MPH in the 1/8th and 10.78 @123MPH in the 1/4 all motor

Ran a 6.31 @109 in the 1/8th and 9.92 @134MPH spinning. The track wasn't too great. On a 150 hit.

Car is setup for No/E, Super Pro, or any heads up EFI class.

The car is really setup for all motor converter and gear wise now with 4.33's and a brand new BTE converter. I have a set of 3.70's and can send the converter off for a restall if your interested in running a heavy load of nitrous. The rings are gapped for a 300. When I first got the car running with the 3.70's and a Neal Chance nitrous converter the car was running 128MPH in the 1,000ft. So shoot the shit to it and it will run pretty quick. I backed away from the nitrous stuff after that weekend and went to running all motor since I was running No/E and Super Pro.

The car isn't "gutted" by any means. I have lightened it up some though. It still weighs in at the 3500lb mark with me and the bottle in the car (160lb+ -driver)

Way too much stuff to list. The car is inspected and tagged.

Asking 18,500 obo trying to get back into a dragster

It will definitely tote the tires out to the 60ft on just a 150 hit.

Radio still works fine Smile

Someone loan this man 18k! lol

I probably should have wiped off all the dust on the bulkhead before taking pictures, but the car really cleans up nice. Cool

I remember seeing this up close and seeing it in action, a VERY well built car...this is an amazing machine and at 18k it's a steal!

Thanks! The car will do a 1.41 60ft just about every pass all motor. I have time slips to show a steady 1.41x about 10 of them just from this past weekend. Has been 1.32 on a 150 hit. This is all on a very conservative tune (I do my own tuning) around 12.2 AFR on motor for bracket racing and 24* timing since the car seems to be more consistent this way.

I will throw in HP Tuners, a set of 3.70 gears, and also call bubba at BTE to have the converter restalled if you want a nitrous loving monster. I originally built this thing to live on nitrous and run on the street, however bracket racing called my name right after the first night I took it to Test N Tune

I brought the car home Friday night and put 4.33's in the rear and ran the Neal Chance nitrous converter for a while (Which was a big mistake) the converter was so tight it was unreal. So I called BTE and bought a new converter about three weeks ago spec'd for all motor.

Don't let the "bracket" racing scare you away from this car. It was originally built for just a flat out street driven car. I still drive it to college and back and all around town every now and then. Not as much as I did with the 3.70's though lol.

I have no doubt in my mind that this car can run bottom 9's with the 3.70's and a restalled converter.

Here's an idle clip of when I FIRST got the car put together and tuned.

Here's the first 9 second pass (9.99)

I can't trade my car turnkey for a roller. I may trade roller for roller or something along that line.

So far it looks like I will be keeping the car unless someone comes up with some cash, I can't get into the trading like I wanted to. So I've got the TH400 for sale since I'm going to a 4L80E.

Looks like I'll be building a 408CI with a F1-R this winter and see if I can get into the 8's Cool

Haha this won't be an over winter deal trust me. I don't have the cash to just do this, it will be drug out until I get it all done Laughing

I haven't decided on a 414CI with a F1 or 408. The only price difference would be pistons and if your gonna go bigger I might as well go all the way Cool

I don't really have to get rid of the Th400, but its here if anyone can make a reasonable offer. It's got very low street miles because I went with the 4.33's for the track only. I drove it to get an inspection sticker once and up to Oreillys maybe twice. Other than that it was at the track.

Everything in the transmission is new. JW housing is still certified also.

One last bump, car is VERY capable of going rounds. Just won in SuperPro at the Electronics Extravaganza @ TRRP last night. Put out a bunch of big named dragsters.

Thanks! The paint looks like a 5 year old tried to airbrush with finger paint, so I'm going to have it wrapped. I also have a new scoop and tray on it's way. Gonna try for the Summit Super Series this year.

You still driving the dragster?
